Up here at 6,500 feet, juniper doesn't ask for much. It grows tangled and tough along the dry streambeds and rocky slopes of the high desert, surviving wind, drought, and hard freezes that would take out most other plants. That resilience is exactly why we forage it — because what a plant needs to survive this climate is often exactly what your skin needs too.
A Five-Week Process, Not a Shortcut
Every botanical oil in Wild Mountain Glow starts the same way: organic, cold-pressed base oil, wild-foraged or specialty ingredients, and five full weeks of infusion in a cool, dark space — hand-agitated daily to draw out every bit of what the plant has to offer. This isn't a quick blend. It's a slow, deliberate process, and it's the reason our salves smell and feel the way they do.
What's in the Blend
Juniper berries, infused in organic sunflower oil — naturally antibacterial and mildly astringent, which makes it especially useful for acne-prone skin, clogged pores, and everyday nicks and scratches. It also carries anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe irritated skin.
Madagascar vanilla beans, infused in organic jojoba oil — over 110 vanilla beans go into every batch, infusing the jojoba with warmth and richness while jojoba itself closely mimics skin's natural oils, making it easy to absorb without clogging pores.
Acai, pomegranate, and green tea — infused together in a nutrient-rich organic oil, this trio is loaded with antioxidants that help defend skin against environmental stress, which matters even more at altitude, where UV exposure is stronger.
Indian and Australian sandalwood — known for gentle astringent properties that help tone skin and support a clearer, more even-looking complexion, alongside a calming effect on irritated or sun-exposed skin.
Moringa oil — the final oil in the blend, and the one ingredient unique to Wild Mountain Glow. Moringa is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids, helping to nourish and strengthen skin's natural barrier.
Organic extra virgin olive oil — naturally rich in squalene, a lipid that closely mirrors what skin already produces on its own, which helps it absorb deeply without feeling heavy. It also brings vitamin E and antioxidants that support skin's natural barrier over time.
Every oil we use is organic and cold-pressed, and every infusion is made in small batches — never mass-produced, never rushed.
A Personal Note
This one's personal for me. I have acne-prone skin myself, and juniper is one of the botanicals I reach for most — not just for breakouts, but for the small scratches and nicks that come with ranch life. Wild Mountain Glow is the salve I reach for on my own skin, which is exactly why it's the one I'm proudest of.
How to Use It
Use as the final step in your skincare routine. Massage a small amount onto clean, toned skin. The blend is lightweight and non-comedogenic, making it a good fit for sensitive, blemish-prone, and easily irritated skin.
Wild-Foraged, Slow-Made, High Desert Grown
Our juniper is gathered by hand from the land around Desert Glow Ranch — the same dry streambeds and cottonwoods you've seen in our photos. Every jar of Wild Mountain Glow carries a little bit of this place in it.
