Will these clog my pores? Are they safe for my face?
Yes — all three salves (Mocha Glow, Wild Desert Glow, Wild Mountain Glow) are crafted with non-comedogenic oils and butters. Jojoba and meadowfoam appear across all three, along with salve-specific oils like argan in Mocha Glow, rosehip in Wild Desert Glow, and moringa in Wild Mountain Glow, all chosen for balanced absorption and skin compatibility. They're used daily on the face by many customers, including our founder. As with any new skincare product, we recommend a patch test first if you have highly sensitive or reactive skin — the Trio is a great low-commitment way to do that before buying a full size.
How much should I use?
A little goes a long way. Warm a small amount between your fingertips and massage into damp skin. Because these are concentrated, water-free treatments, most people need less than they'd expect from a traditional lotion.
What's the shelf life?
24–36 months when stored in a cool, dry place, tightly sealed. Because we use zero preservatives, you may occasionally notice slight natural oil separation — totally normal and doesn't affect quality.

It might feel fine — but water-based moisturizers evaporate quickly in low-humidity environments, sometimes pulling moisture out of your skin as they go. At altitude, where humidity is already low and wind is constant, that effect is amplified. Water-free formulas don't evaporate. They stay where you put them and keep working all day.
A small amount goes a long way. Warm a pea-sized amount between your fingertips and press it into your skin — it absorbs more like a lightweight oil than a balm. Our customers are consistently surprised by how light it feels. The key is starting small and adding more if needed.
It means we harvest the plants ourselves, by hand, from our ranch land and surrounding wilderness — not purchased in bulk from a distributor. Wild plants that grow in stressed, high-altitude environments often have higher concentrations of protective compounds because they've had to develop their own defenses. That's what ends up in your salve.
A cold or warm infusion over five weeks extracts far more of the plant's active constituents than a quick heat-infusion done in hours. The trade-off is time. Most brands don't do it this way because it slows down production. We think the result is worth it — and so do our customers.
Yes. Because we use no synthetics, no preservatives, and no fragrance chemicals, our formulas are well-tolerated by most sensitive skin types. That said, everyone is different. We always recommend doing a small patch test on your inner wrist before applying to your face.
